PC Setup of the Month

I'm starting a new DIY PC setup list I'll be bringing to you every month! The focus will be on a solid setup which allows you to build your own PC on a budget.

I wrote this review with a speculative budget of $1200. While you can get away much cheaper I wanted to provide the best possible options to fit in the budget. This setup provides you with a Quad-Core PC with 4 GB of ram, 1TB HD, and a 1GB Graphics card which will play any game on the market extremely well.

Peripherals: Not included in budget price, these are for upgrading old peripherals.

Monitor: Asus 24 Inch Widescreen LCD - $199

Keyboard: Logitech G110 - $63

Mouse: Razer Lachesis - $80

Speakers or Headset: Logitech Z313 - $40 / Logitech G35 - $108

That being said, most people who are looking to build their own PC already have good peripherals for their gaming PC. Now onto the PC itself!

Computer Parts:

Case: Cooler Master Centurion 534 - $55

Power Supply: Corsair 650W - $90

Processor: Intel i5-2500k 3.3 Ghz - $229

Heatsink: Thermaltake Frio - $58

Motherboard: Asus P8P68-M PRO - $150

Memory: 4GB G.Skill Ripjaws 12800 DDR3 - $63

Graphics Card: EVGA GeForce GTX 560 Ti - $260

Hard Drive: Western Digital 1TB - $90
DVD Drive: Lite-On Lightscribe 24x DVD+/-RW - $33

Total price of the PC itself: $1028
Price of the PC including peripherals: $1410 - $1478
The feeling of accomplishment when you buy and build your own super-fast PC?: Priceless

Note: This price does not include the Operating System.

Questions? Concerns? Complaints? Tell me how I can make my monthly PC setup post better! Drop me a line in the comments!
